JOB PURPOSE :
The job purpose of this position is to successfully execute project management from the day the PO for the Project is received, until the day the project completion forms are signed off by the customer. The purpose is to manage, organize, plan, and execute various size projects within a pre-determined budget and time frame. These projects will range from a single twin screw extruder for a customer up to a full turn-key plant installation.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
Century Extrusion has a unique opportunity for Project Managers in the capital equipment manufacturing environment. This job contains aspects of various different fields of expertise, this will range from engineering to budget tracking of a project.
From the day a PO is received and the project is awarded to a project manager, that project manager will be responsible to successfully execute that project within a certain budget and time frame, unless exceptional circumstances prevent the project from proceeding as necessary.
This role is responsible for all different phases of the project from, writing specifications sheets, doing process flow diagrams, setting up a project plan, managing mechanical and electrical designs, having technical and project progress meetings with customers, tracking the budget, organizing start-ups and managing risk throughout the project life time. Depending on the size of the project, more than one project manager could be assigned to a project.
DESIRED SKILLS :
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to generate project schedules in Microsoft Project.
Ability to read mechanical drawings
Ability to read electrical drawings
Ability to generate and read process flow diagrams in Auto CAD PLANT3D
Ability to use AutoDesk products
Experience with ERP and MRP systems (SAP)
Attentive to detail
Technical or engineering degree preferred
Project management experience preferred
Travel is required
Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suites

Key Responsibilities :
Schedule and lead customer project progress meetings
Communicate with customers and sales representatives regarding status of orders, approval drawings, and ship dates
Create and maintain a project status report
Create and maintain a project schedule
Create a project specification sheet
Create and maintain a project budget
Create a P&ID
Manage the approval of the P&ID document
Create an instrumentation list for the P&ID
Work with OEMs of auxiliary equipment to provide information for purchasing, approval drawings and certified drawings
Work with Engineering, Purchasing, Sales and Production departments to ensure seamless flow from acceptance of order through shipment
Manage start-ups
Maintain and organize all project digital equipment files
All other duties as assigned
MANAGEMENT DIVERSITY:
This position is a non-supervisory role and it requires a working awareness of and productive interaction with many related and unrelated functions.
HUMAN RELATIONS:
This position exchanges complex/technical and confidential information with peers, management, customers and OEM suppliers in the development of a proprietary and non-proprietary engineering detail for the project.
PROBLEM SOLVING:
Problems encountered are numerous and diverse. Complex thinking and good judgement is required to evaluate, analyze, and formulate a solution to resolve the problem.
