The Assisted Living Manager at a St. Ann’s Home exemplifies the vision, the mission, and the vibrancy of the organization and leads the delivery of exceptional care to our residents. Teamwork and collaboration are instrumental to the success of our communities, and in this role you will work with the internal leadership team, including our Director of Clinical Services, and our external partners to oversee and guarantee that our Assisted Living resident's needs are not only met, but delivered with vibrancy.
Essential Functions:
Attendance: Regular and predictable attendance is essential to the success of this role. Regular office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with the opportunity for mutually agreed upon flexibility of start/stop times; however, resident needs will require flexibility in work hours.
Management/Leadership: In this role, you will select, build, coach and supervise a team of passionate, engaging and high quality Medication Technicians (Med Techs) and Resident Assistants (RA’s) who are responsible for providing the Activities of Daily Living Services (ADL's) to our residents. Through your leadership, you will hold the team accountable for meeting all mission, quality, safety, and other performance standards.
Communication: You will also develop, monitor, and adjust work schedules to ensure adequate staffing to meet our St. Ann’s service standards and budget, conduct routine rounds of the community, participate in initial and ongoing resident assessments to help identify needs and changes in condition, assist in the development of the Resident Services Care Plans, participate in regular resident and family meetings, and help conduct new hire training and monthly in-service trainings. This is a critical role within the St. Ann’s Home team, and allows for the opportunity to create a dramatic and positive impact on our residents' ability to live an active, vibrant life!
Teamwork: Directly manages the Assisted Living care & service team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with St. Ann’s policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities also include, involvement in interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Unparalleled Service: Uphold for team and self the highest standards of customer service at all times to residents. Assist team as needed, in order to exceed resident’s expectations.
Flexibility: The ability to shift gears and implement new topics and processes quickly to address emerging resident needs. Work schedule may require conformity to resident needs and outcomes.
Support the DON: Assist as needed with research and development of potential new offerings for St. Ann’s Home. This position will serve in the nurse leadership rotation for on call purposes.
Other duties as assigned to meet client and organizational goals.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited approved Registered Nurse Program. Bachelors of Science Degree in nursing strongly preferred.
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in this state.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a supervisor role in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a long-term care facility.
- Current CPR certification required, or willing to become certified within the first 90 days.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing demands for time and attention.

- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group of associates, residents, and family members.

- Excellent written communication skills including proper grammar and professional writing.
- Ability to read at a level to understand care notes and written directives of medical practitioners.
- Strong computer skills and keyboarding skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to quickly master new applications.

Working Conditions:
- Is involved with physicians, residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
- Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary, as well as in other positions as needed. Participation in management on-call rotation to fill in on the floor as needed.
- Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
- Is involved in community/civic health matters/projects as appropriate.
- Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.
- Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, assaults from hostile residents, etc., throughout the work day, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
- Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and AIDS and Hepatitis B
