The Opportunity
Catherine’s is actively seeking a Medical Assistant who will be an integral support to providers in the delivery
of compassionate and high-quality services to patients. At Catherine’s, service means more than just

Job Summary
Catherine’s Heath Center seeks individuals who wish to make an impact on the health and well-being of the
members of their communities. All Medical Assistants work as part of a team that includes additional medical
professionals, volunteers and students, assisting with clinical procedures and performing clerical functions to
achieve optimal clinical and resource outcomes. This position is crucial to upholding Catherine’s values of

Position Supervisor : Clinical Coordinator
Pay: From $17/hour
Description of Duties/Responsibilities
? Comply with appropriate regulations including HIPAA, CLIA and OSHA
? Follow established clinical protocols as applicable
? Consult with providers and other team members to ensure quality patient care
? Perform telephone triage as directed, based on clinical knowledge
? Appropriately document patient interactions
? Perform daily patient flow functions, including venipuncture
? Assist with and/or perform clinical procedures

? Facilitate appropriate referrals for patients
? Prepare charts for visits, file patient information, and assist with medical records duties
? Retrieve and distribute results to health care providers, laboratories, and medical records as directed,
and give abnormal results to provider
? Sterilize and clean equipment based on established clinic protocols
? Work effectively with professional and paraprofessional staff
? Serve as an information resource for patients, staff, volunteers, students and providers
? Provide training, supervision and direction to medical assistants, practice staff and volunteers as
needed
? Assist patients in application for various assistance programs for medications and specialty referrals
? Assist with working referral and quality reports in conjunction with care team
? Implement provider orders (immunizations, testing, obtaining lab specimens, documenting results,
etc.
? Attend staff meetings, trainings, and clinic community activities as required
? Maintain credentialing as required
? Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Position Qualifications
? Completion of a Medical Assistant training/certificate program and current certification as CMA or
RMA
? At least three (3) years of experience as a Medical Assistant, LPN or in additional areas of patient
health care in a clinical setting (primary care preferred)
? Bilingual preferred
? Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy, administering vaccines, performing EKG's and basic
CLIA-waved lab tests, and assisting with procedures
? Comfortable using an electronic health record (such as Athena or EPIC) and basic medical office
equipment
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Requirements

? Ability to demonstrate competency with a standard desktop and Windows-based computer system,
including a basic understanding of e-mail, internet, and computer navigation. Ability to use other
software as required to perform the essential functions of the job
? Proficient in use of Electronic Medical Records system (preferably Athena)
? Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
? Ability to function effectively and calmly in an unpredictable and often stressful environment
? Ability to manage multiple requests and projects simultaneously
? Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
? Ability to handle patient and organizational information in a confidential manner
? Ability to demonstrate competency with a standard desktop and Windows-based computer system,
including a basic understanding of e-mail, internet and computer navigation.
? Ability to use other software as required to perform the essential functions of the job
? Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to comfortably
interact with diverse populations
? Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
? Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions in a medical practice setting.
