Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Tends machines that automatically or semi-automatically fabricate various types of springs.
Examines wire stock with micrometer to ensure conformance to specifications.
Lifts roll of stock onto holding device, threads stock through guides, and clamps material in proper position.
Starts machine to fabricate and eject springs.
Measures springs for conformance to specifications using gages, micrometers, load testers, etc.
Notifies set up person, lead person, or supervisor when machine malfunctions.
Keeps work area clean and neat, actively participates in5S initiatives.
Abides by all the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the company including conformance to good common sense safety practices and regulations.
Responsible for manufacturing top quality parts at a reasonable rate of production.
The Quality Control Inspector tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
Interprets engineering drawings, diagrams, or formulas to arrive at specified quality and reliability standards.
Selects products for tests at specified stages in production and tests for such items as dimensions, performance, mechanical, etc., using various measuring instruments, e.g. micrometers, dial and slide calipers, comparators, protractors, etc.
Lays out, sets up, and performs tests on parts and records test data using statistical quality control procedures and prepares data in graph or chart form.
Requirements
Education:
High school or equivalent. Courses or training in computer science, blueprint reading, shop mathematics, quality control, SPC helpful.
A minimum of one to two years as a quality control inspector in a manufacturing environment.

Add and subtract decimals, fractions, and percentages. Capable of using various machine tools, micrometers, calipers.
Mechanical ability a must.
Able to use variety of precision measuring devices.
Attention to detail in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data.
Physical Requirements:
Extensive standing, recurring bending as well as moderate to heavy lifting.
Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
Continuous mental and/or visual attention to operate machine(s).
