Description
Responsible for assisting with and providing prescribed radiation therapy within the assigned unit scope of practice following hospital and departmental policies and procedures, standards of care, and standards of practice.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Administers, documents, and evaluates radiation therapy treatments.
Uses simulation equipment to localize tumors and set treatment parameters.
Fabricates immobilization devices and treatment aids.
Participates in patient conferences and patient education as a member of the treatment team.
Participates in quality assurance and equipment maintenance program.
Maintains, notes, charts, reports, and other documentation related to the work.
Seeks to improve quality of service by continuously developing individual and unit competencies within scope of practice.
Performs other related responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Training program.
Registered or registry eligible in Radiation Therapy by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent.
BLS certification as Healthcare Provider or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN).
Preferred:
Two years of Radiation Therapist experience.
