Job Opening – Photographer for Online Auction Sales
Alpena, Michigan
Help our business sell inventory of unique, constantly changing collectibles, antiques and items of value through appealing photography. We do online retail and auction-style internet selling in high volume.
Experience with a wide variety of product photography for eBay, Etsy and other websites and printed publications and catalogs will get favorable consideration.
Part-time or Full-time available, depending on availability; hours Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Weekends also possible if we are shooting on-location at an estate, but these assignments are rare.
Job Duties:
- Photograph items we are selling. (Please review examples of photographs at www.PaceHongAuctions.com. Click on “Current & Upcoming Auctions”)
- Take large numbers of professional/commercial advertising-grade photos with emphasis on sharp focus, appealing lighting and balanced in-the-camera cropping when possible.
- At times photography will be at consignor sites with variety in lighting and staging situations.
- Organize and maintain a high production work environment photographing hundreds of items each week.
- Transfer digital images from camera to a library of computer folders, including resizing for internet use.
- Scan items (when physically possible) on a flat-bed scanner for direct transfer to our image library.
- Manage large collection of item images on our computer network.
- Editing, cropping, enhancing of digital images using software such as Picassa.
- Work with inventory personnel to process images into auction cataloging software on our computer network.
- Be a flexible addition to a great staff of dedicated professionals who work in a collegial atmosphere.
- Create ads for publications and on-line sites using images from inventory.
- Interface with our office staff in Alpena, Michigan via computer and phone.
