IT Delivery Lead Location: Detroit, MI Duration: 10-11 months Description: Serve as Delivery Lead II for medium to large initiatives. This person will be responsible and accountable for successful end-to-end project delivery as measured by: On-Time, On-Budget, With Quality and Customer Satisfaction. Top Three Technical Skills/Experience: - Proven experience successfully managing complex IT initiatives - 5 Years - Proven experience successfully managing large teams of diverse resources - 5 Years - Proven experience collaborating at the Manager and Director level - 2 Years Duties /Responsibilities: - Responsible for initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing complex initiatives using a formal project management methodology. - Partner with Business areas to assist with Business Case obtaining approved scope and value. - Ensures established project budget and schedule are met - Facilitates meetings with multiple levels within the organization to obtain, drive and communicate the status of the project - Present project-related presentations for director-level leadership - Direct and frequent involvement in sponsor, client, and customer relations to ensure that service expectations are met - Identify, document, and driving issues and risks to resolution / mitigation and when necessary escalate to leadership for assistance. Develop decision documents for options to resolve issues / risks. - Establish, analyzes, monitors and forecasts project budget based on information provided from a variety of areas - Develop detailed plans and schedules using MS Project. - Develop integrated plans tracking milestones across multiple enterprise initiatives - Monitor project metrics for significant deviations in quality, cost, or schedule. - Collaborates with different business areas to prepare the project for implementation, including coordinating communications, process changes and training. - Coach and mentor individuals on the project teams and provides feedback on performance to their leaders. - Adhere to Project Management Office policies, procedures and methodologies. - Possess thorough knowledge of PMI standards and terminology (including PMBOK) - Assist in establishing and improving project management methodologies, procedures and policies. Required Skills/Experience: - Minimum 5 years' experience running IT projects - Demonstrated strong leadership skills with hands on management of project execution - A -take charge- approach and desire to remove project roadblocks, resolve issues and mitigate risks - Excellent oral and written communication skills (English speaking - required) - Able to communicate using terminology that can be understood by both technical and business leadership. Translate complex technical items in a form that can be understood by non-technical resources. - Demonstrated experience in building win- win relationships with Business and IS partners - Proven analytical skills to analyze financial and schedule forecasts and identify issues and opportunities - Proven experience managing a large dollar project that have significant business implications - Keen understanding of key success factors for large scale initiatives - Ability to achieve forward progress and maintain momentum in a project environment - Ability to manage volatility, uncertainty - Ability to participate at a key level in the process of distilling strategic goals into actionable tactical plans - Successful record of Project Work Plan (resource, cost, and time) management - High proficiency (expert-level) in the use of MS-Project - Experience with projects that have multiple stakeholders - Ability to manage engagements with -executive level- visibility and interaction - Must have the discipline and rigor to optimally use the project management tools (e.g. MS Plan Enterprise) to produce and deliver high quality project plans, status updates and reports - Proven experience managing large project teams and sub teams - Proficient in formal project management methodologies - Great understanding of issue / risk management and resolution / mitigation - Requirements management and scope containment skills - Great interpersonal skills and conflict resolutions skills - Great organizational skills including meeting agendas, minutes, documentation, etc - Proven experience working with and gaining the confidence of technologists Preferred Skills/Experience: - Experience with Agile methodologies including performing the role of Scrum Master preferred - Healthcare experience preferred - (Add any specific to the types of projects, such as security or financial background) Educational Requirements: - Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred - PMP certification preferred
