Radiology Tech
Position Summary
Positions animal patients (mostly canine and equine), determine exposure techniques, perform radiographic, MRI/CT and other imaging examinations. Instruct and supervise students in the taking of quality radiographs, radiation safety, and safe Imaging practices. Enter patient data in computer; assist in maintaining patient files; and retrieve patient files.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical, vocational or business school in an approved Radiologic Technologist program; up to six months of related experience in the use of radiology equipment and exposure techniques, positioning and care of patients, radiation safety standards; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and additional certification(s) in the area(s) of specialization as required by law or to meet industry standards.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in a veterinary radiology setting working with animals; use of digital and computerized radiology systems including, digital storage systems; experience with CT imaging.

First shift working four 10-hour days Friday through Monday
Summary of Physical Demands
Lifting animal patients onto cages and medical equipment; carrying animals between cages and exam tables and gurneys; pushing carts containing animals and equipment to other units; climbing stairs carrying lab samples; restraining animals; preparing for medical procedures and treatments.
Summary of Health Risks
Caring for animals with potential TB and rabies risk; may wear a respirator.
