General Responsibilities
Responsible for setting up, operating and problem solving torsion spring forming machines (CNC and Mechanical), performing a variety of operations, setting dies, straighteners, feed, stroke adjustment, greasing leader pins, adjusting safety equipment and working with various customer required specifications. Troubleshoots and assists Maintenance Team regarding machine down situations. Performs preventive maintenance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Able to decide which jobs the machines are capable of handling and set up the most difficult jobs from a blueprint or hand drawing.
Properly complete all required quality process controls.
Problem solve, correct and or stop production when defective parts are detected.
Able to modernize or make changes in the machine to improve production, or making machine suitable for a new type of job.
Assist in decisions to improve the set-up procedures and overall production of the area.
Train others and generally to be of assistance to others as needed.
Evaluate the standard rate to determine if it can be increased and still maintain quality.
Run different types of machines within the department simultaneously and maintain quality.
Perform set-ups on the different types of similar machines within the department.
Maintain quality at standard rates of set-up and running speed, including certification in basic SPC techniques.
Requirements
Formal education in tooling or machining
Strong, demonstrated problem solving ability required
Ability to convert drawing specifications and requirements into functional parts
Humble: Display a willingness to learn, listen and participate in continuous improvement activities
