What You'll Enjoy Doing
The Director of Global Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing the purchasing and inventory planning functions at ITC including issuing purchase orders, working with global operations to ensure timely receipt of inventory, establishment and maintenance of transportation contracts, tariff and duty oversight, manage forecasting, inventory maintenance, and management of Purchasing team members.
Purchasing
Oversees all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies.
Maintains relationships, negotiates contracts and formulates policies with suppliers.
Coordinates all customs and duty assignments for inbound shipments.
Maintains daily communications with overseas office regarding product ordering, availability, shipment timing and transportation.
Optimizes purchase planning in conjunction with the Sales team.
Develops cost reduction strategies.
Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in buying and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.
Prepares and coordinates purchasing department budgets.
Utilizes purchasing system and other software to create efficiencies and extract data to monitor measurables.
Analyzes market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
Participates in new product development on behalf of the purchasing team.
Create and manage OKRs (Objectives and Key Results).
Inventory
Maintains proper levels of inventory while matching customer demand.
Identifies obsolete and overstock inventory, working with sales and product development to disposition inventory.
Oversees item master maintenance elements and item classifications within the business application software.
Intermittent U.S. and global travel required (10 to 20%)
Required Experience:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.
At least 10 years of combined experience in purchasing, inventory control and/or supply chain management.
At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
Ability to exceptionally communicate both written and orally to all employees and upper management as well as in group presentations and meetings.
Adept problem-solving skills including being able to identify issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Word and Excel.
Familiarity with creating processes and using technology to increase efficiency and productivity.
Extensive (over 5 years) ERP system knowledge including an advanced understanding of extracting and analyzing data.
Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules that apply to purchasing and logistics processes.
Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
Demonstrated ability to lead a highly effective and engaged team.
