Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Team Leaders, responsible for safety and security measures, following policies and procedures, and daily operations of children in the treatment facility program. Responsibilities include: facilitating/developing family relationships, case management, practicing/modeling core program therapeutic aspects, and maintaining facility security.
Wage Range: $18.01 per hour, no benefits, call-in as needed, up to 19.5 hours per week
Responsibilities and Duties
Facilitates and teaches program concepts to youth and their families in a home environment. Routinely tracks and modifies youth's treatment plan and goals during both residential placement and transition back into the community.
Represents the collective views of the Cheever Treatment Center program, youth, and family in the courtroom. Provides written and oral reports and makes recommendations to the judge, probation officer, community justice officer, and family.
Develop treatment plans, maintain case files according to state guidelines.
Regularly conducts impromptu interventions in the homes during youth's home assignments.
Provides unit supervision. Closely monitors residents and their movements.
Utilizing training and certifications to maintain a safe and secure unit.
Manage residents medication. Administer medications according to doctor's orders and log accordingly. Attend to medical and dental needs by setting appointments and bringing resident to these appointments.
Manage crisis situations. Use de-escalation strategies with the youth during situations that require immediate intervention.
Teach theoretical concepts of Balance and Restorative Justice & Choice Theory/Reality Therapy to residents and their families.
Community restoration. Support the residents in choosing appropriate behaviors while on outings. Establish an expectation of behavior while outside the unit and evaluate effectiveness during and after the outing.
Education: Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) required. Must have completed 30 credit hours of college or equivalent semester hours.
Experience: One year of casework experience in a related setting. One year of experience involvement in a youth related environment.
Other Requirements: Valid Michigan Driver?s License, First Aid/CPR within six months of employment. RTC Endorsement.
