SUMMARY
This position is for instructors who are certified to teach ACLS or PALS courses following the American Heart Association guidelines. The instructor possesses good communication and feedback skills. The instructor should teach at least two advanced courses per year for the Munson Regional EMS Education AHA Training Center.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Current American Heart Association ACLS or PALS instructor status required, or ability to obtain within one month of hire Current BLS provider status required, or ability to obtain within one month of hire Advanced EMT, Paramedic, Respiratory Therapist, RN, Physician Assistant or Physician licensure preferred Two or more years of advanced patient care required Critical care training preferred Excellent communication skills.
ORGANIZATION Works under the supervision of the manager of Clinical Organizational Learning, the Simulation Lab Coordinator, and the American Heart Association Training Center coordinator. Must maintain a professional working relationship with all other members of the Staff Development and EMS Education departments. Will receive advice and guidance from the American Heart Association Training Center Faculty.

Possess excellent communication and teaching skills.
Works closely with students while validating student skills and provides them with coaching, feedback, and remediation.
Maintains current knowledge of American Heart Association guidelines and course requirements.
Documents education programs according to the documentation standards of the hospital and the American Heart Association.
Uses approved AHA course materials and follows the core content of the AHA course in its entirety.
Sets up equipment for skills stations, maintains equipment in good working order, cleans equipment following the training center guidelines and returns equipment to the storage area.
Instructs for at least two Advanced Life Support Courses per year.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
