SUMMARY
Coordinates the activities of nursing and non-physician staff by performing the following duties: Performs daily nursing functions as described in the LPN job description.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of a recognized and accredited Practical Nursing program with current Michigan license and in good standing with the State of Michigan Board of Nursing.
Current BLS or to obtain within 60 days of employment.
Experience in a hospital or physician office setting.Urology and Procedure Experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Must possess the ability to work independently while maintaining a team effort.
Able to prioritize multiple tasks and duties and maintain a calm professional manner in a busy office setting.
ORGANIZATION
Receives direction from the manager and/or office coordinator. Works collaboratively and effectively with all members of the patient care team.
Cares for patients of all ages from birth to geriatric
SPECIFIC DUTIES

Performs job duties safely at all times, utilizing learned body mechanics and transferring/lifting techniques. Plans actions to promote safety. Reports any unsafe situation/equipment according to hospital procedure.
Responsible for maintaining patient flow in an efficient and timely manner by obtaining the patient's history, obtaining and charting of vital signs and preparing the patient for the physician. May prepare patients for procedures and assist the physician during procedures. May perform phlebotomy and injections as needed. Participates in patient education activities.
Participates in a team fashion with completing of daily chart activities. Responsible for documentation of office laboratory procedures and controls. Participates in the review of medication and supply expiration dates. Participates in ongoing process improvement to maintain high quality patient care.
Works within LPN scope of practice.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
