Promote team work and convey a genuine interest in supporting the lean production philosophy. Set-up and operate a variety of equipment in the plant as required. Maintain acceptable levels of performance as measured against work cell benchmarks. In addition, provide input relative to continuously improving the overall production performance of the work cell. You will be held accountable for knowing, understanding, and adhering to the Escalation Policy designed for this position.
Setup, maintain and operate a CNC multi-station machining center. The job function may consist of operating single axis or multi-station CNC controls, automated welding, calling up programs, making minor adjustments, drilling, reaming, turning, chamfering, tapping, milling, piercing and similar operations on a variety of part sizes.
Work in conjunction with area team leader and supervisor to maintain standards of production.
Assist in the development and maintenance of a method of job rotation that will enhance and retain individual skill levels required to maximize team productivity. Maintain acceptable levels of performance as measured against work cell benchmarks. In addition, provide input relative to continuously improving the overall production performance of the work cell. Assist and train fellow team members when required. Must possess the demonstrated ability to read and effectively utilize required inspection gages. In addition, must be skilled in reading and interpreting both parts prints and process sheets. Technician must also possess a thorough knowledge of the equipment, tooling and related functions in the plant. Ability to effectively communicate, plan, organize and problem solve is essential.
Some jobs may require some or all of the following:
May lift, load and unload parts up to 30 pounds, using proper material handling techniques, approximately 400-500 times per shift, per day. May push/pull material handling carts, using proper job safety material handling instructions. Work may be performed in a standing position for long periods of time. May operate and monitor multiple equipment simultaneously. May be responsible for understanding and/or maintaining proper fluid and media levels in equipment. Ability to read, comprehend work instructions/inspection requirements and document the same at required frequencies. Ability to operate hand gauges per work instructions/blueprints. Possess basic computer skills required to perform routine tasks. Ability to work overtime.
High school diploma or equivalent, with manufacturing experience preferred. Must successfully satisfy the established job qualifying criteria, as well as successfully completing verification process.
