Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with or perform various tests and procedures as directed by physicians/other health care professionals including A scans, B-scans and Humphrey Visual Field testing
- Assist with or perform external photography on patients’ eyes including Optical Coherence Tomography imaging and fundus photography
- Assist with or perform ultrasound procedures
- Dilate patients’ eyes
- Escort patients to and from various destinations; assist patients in and out of examination chairs
- Clean and disinfect equipment
- Keep all working areas clean, neat and stocked; clean room after each patient and leave room ready for next patient
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with people inside and outside the department and/or practice

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years experience performing diagnostic testing
- 6 months training on A-scans, B-scans, Humphrey Visual Field testing and Optical Coherence Tomography
- Knowledge of Ophthalmology terminology, eye anatomy and medical terminology
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Demonstrated proficiency with A scans and Humphrey visual field testing
- Good written and verbal communication skills to convey and receive information effectively (face-to-face, telephone and electronic)
- Good analytical and judgment skills
- Ability to use computer software programs and systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patients, personnel and/or financial data
- Excellent organizational skills to work independently, prioritize, handle multiple tasks and manage time
Safety Requirements:
- Compliance with departmental Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Mandatory TB test annually (based on Department guidelines)

Work Schedule:
- Hours and days to be determined by the business needs of the department
- May require travel to off-site locations
- May require on-call duty and the ability to work outside of scheduled work hours when the need arises
