This position is a key team member supporting the Office of Academic and Student Affairs suite, and provides excellent customer service to our students, faculty, and staff. Reporting to the UMSI Registrar, the Registration and Curriculum Coordinator provides support relating to graduation policies, academic requirements, registration, and enrollment.

Registration and Curriculum Coordination (40%)
Communicate with students regarding registration, student records, degree requirements the add/drop/edit/swap, wait list, withdrawal, course overload, override processes, and documenting actions utilizing Wolverine Access.
Maintain awareness of deadlines for student and faculty actions. In close collaboration with the UMSI Registrar, lead the term schedule creation process, schedule maintenance, and classroom reservation processes.
Leverage database knowledge to create and maintain systems to track curricular changes by utilizing the Course Approval Request Form. Manage the course enrollment process in close collaboration with the Senior Associate Dean, pulling enrollment reports, taking into account instructional capacity, and coordinating a complex waitlist process.
Student Services Administration (40%)
Manage the communication process around a complex timeline for the online Master of Data Science program. Manage automated emails for students and faculty around registration, drop/add deadlines, and teaching evaluations--oftentimes using predefined templates that are updated as needed. Identify teaching evaluation needs, timelines, and communicate with students.
Promote relevant deadlines, serve as primary communicator to students regarding registration processes, and triage urgent priorities. Communicate and coordinate with faculty regarding course evaluations, grade reporting, and midterm / final exam scheduling. Oversee the requests for student letters. Utilize channels, such as the regularly distributed newsletter, to promote communication.
Responsible for triaging email coming into the UMSI.Registrar email group--resolve issues and escalate other matters as appropriate. Direct students to established resources regarding policies, procedures, programs, and services. Follow guidelines for FERPA and FOIA regarding access and release of student related information.
Provide note-taking and task-tracking for OASA Curriculum Team meetings. Assist with support to Academic Program Committees. Serve as a backup for student records coordination. Help with all hands-on-deck large events such as orientation and graduation.
Data Reporting and System Management (10%)
Assist with data and documentation compilation and in generating data for annual statistical reports, accreditation reviews, and official third-week enrollment. Work with systems and central offices to automate and schedule regular reports to support operational efficiency. Leverage database knowledge to create and maintain systems to track data related to registration, curriculum, student records.
Waiver Process Management (10%)
Coordinate the formalized waiver processes which includes test based waivers, experience and course evaluation waivers, and transfer credit waivers. In the test based waiver process, manage the administration of the test including communication to faculty, staff, and students, promoting the test, and assuring result administration in a timeline to support student registration. For other waiver types, manage the information gathering, triage evaluation giving answers when able, and seeking additional input when necessary. Compile a data summary to evaluate impact of waivers on course enrollment. Maintain and update historical records of waiver outcomes. Lead new waiver request evaluation process and initiate new waivers.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a higher education setting, ideally in a registrar’s office or an academic/student services office
- Excellent skills with web-based systems, word processing, databases, and spreadsheets
- Strong customer service and excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team as well as independently; ability to exercise independent judgment when necessary and employ basic reasoning skills
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Master’s and/or other advanced degree (e.g., a MA in Higher Education or related field)
- Demonstrated fluency in University systems, such as MPathways Student Administration system, or similar student information systems
- Knowledge of University and departmental policies and procedures
- Experience with data reporting in various query tools, such as Business Objects
