Vehicle Operations Manufacturing Engineering is a multi-functional team with a primary focus on planning and implementing new vehicle launch programs at Ford assembly plants.
What you'll be able to do:
Provide Manufacturing / IT Engineering leadership throughout a new model development program from KO through launch.
Review and implement new IT concepts and designs for Manufacturing Systems.
Develop and implement improvements related to EOL Reporting Systems.
Assist in preparation of NMP management reviews; perform data collection to support the presentation.
Lead capital project teams to develop capital appropriations requests and manage the projects from concept through commissioning.
Lead costing for implementation of Test Systems and find acceptable cost reduction opportunities. Including writing scopes of work for Test Systems.
Support change control to evaluate product change impact on Test equipment, IT infrastructure, HW, SW costs and labor.
Provide onsite prototype build support at North American Manufacturing Assembly Plants. Note: Travel within US, Canada and Mexico for installation, launch support and issue resolution may require up to 70% of dedicated time onsite.
Lead risk assessment for Test System software, hardware, and network changes.
Write functional descriptions for SW and HW modifications and assist in writing SOW's.
Coordinate all pre-launch validation events from DCV through MP2 for IT related Test Systems.
Assist plant implementation teams in resolving IT and Test System performance issues.
Lead daily trouble shooting; coordinate cross-functional resources to find root cause and fixes, manage and breakdown problems into items that can be validated. Determine accurate validation methods.
Assist in the training of manufacturing personnel and plant repairmen when required.
Travel in support of Ford launches
Minimum Requirements:
Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in STEM field
Previous experience crafting and configuring code
Demonstrated experience in accomplishing tasks and objectives
Tenure working in a manufacturing environment
Validated problem-solving ability
Previous automotive and/ or quality analysis experience
Demonstrated skill utilizing problem-solving tools (Six Sigma, DOE, 8D, 5 Why, etc)
Effective oral and written communication skills
Self-starter, with the ability to be self-directed in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
