JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY
The Quality Manager leads the quality management for the plant. Builds and executes quality programs specific to customer needs through aligning program management, product engineering, and supplier quality. Evaluates best business practices to define and direct strategies, procedures, standards, and targets for quality management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Establishes and reviews annual quality improvement plans as well as Business Unit, Plant, or Division operational plans
Responsible for continuous improvement in quality key measure performance and customer satisfaction for their assigned area, as well as broader indicators such as JD Power, Craftsmanship, and Warranty performance
Assures adequate staffing and training to execute quality and operational plans
Leads Quality function within their area of responsibility, typically providing direct leadership to Quality Engineers

Guides and directs the Quality Department to assure appropriate procedures are in place that will assure both internal and external customer quality expectations are achieved.
Works with Engineering on advance quality planning on future programs and ensures that all special characteristics identified during product development are monitored using statistical techniques throughout the manufacturing process.
Supervises and manages Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineer and BOS Coordinator.
Manages complete Quality Reporting system.
Serves as the Management Representative for Quality/BOS. Manages the internal audit schedule for BOS and IATF 16949. Administers all Quality activities as defined in the BOS and IATF standards and requirements
Manages supplier base for purchased components.
Ensures that facility maintains calibration on all variable and attribute gauges.
Completes individual development plans for each member within the Quality Department
Establishes the criteria guideline for determining incoming inspection frequencies and ensures that they are conducted.
Ensures that a final product audits are conducted to the necessary instructions, frequency and auditors.
Reviews the job performance of each subordinate so that employee training and development may be utilized per Company policy.
Conforms to all BOS and IATF requirements applicable to position.
Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the Plant Manager.
Complete all required and applicable training required by Adient and its customers
Education / Experience / Skills
High School Education or Equivalent (GED)
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
Specific education and training in Quality disciplines including, at a minimum
IATF16949
Continuous Improvement
Total Quality Management
PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DoE, SPC
5+ years of experience in Quality or production functions
Accountabilities
This position reports directly to the Plant Manager

Report occupational injuries, illnesses and accidents
Report hazardous, unsafe and unhealthy conditions
Qualifications
Five years experience in Quality Management or supervision.
Automotive Quality experience and knowledge of IATF 16949 and BOS standards.
