RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Practice and promote safety in such a way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Set up jobs per procedures for work being performed. Knows who to contact in case of emergency and where the nearest eyewash and safety equipment is located.
- Ensures that proper equipment needed for job is in place (e.g. meters, radios, barricade tape, fire extinguishers, etc.)
- Maintains visual and/or radio communication with crew. Observes work conditions and maintains awareness of anything that could endanger the workers.
- Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment including but not limited to confined space monitors.
- Ability to remain mobile, walk distances on uneven ground and climb stairs.
- Adheres to all safety protocol to include confined space entry, lock-out-tag-out, working at heights, wearing appropriate safety glasses, gloves and other personal protective equipment, as well as all OSHA, MSHA requirements.
- Ability to work shifts as required.
