Job Description THE OFFICIAL WORK STATION FOR THIS POSITION WILL BE LOCATED IN INGHAM COUNTY OR ANY COUNTY DIRECTLY ADJACENT TO INGHAM COUNTY. This position is primarily responsible to provide direction to the division's electrical inspectors, conduct electrical inspections, investigations, prepare related reports, and testify in administrative or judicial proceedings. In addition, the person assigned to this position will assist in monitoring inspector workloads and developing inspection areas, participate in the rule promulgation process, train, instruct, assign work duties, provide direction, prioritize and evaluate the work of other inspectors, provide code explanations and division policy on the electrical code, develop and conduct training programs, assist in developing exam questions, conduct plan reviews when needed, and inspect manufactured home communities as required. Position Description Required Education and Experience Education _ Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school. Experience _ Seven years of experience in the electrical trade, including two years equivalent to a journey-level electrician and one year equivalent to an Electrical Inspector E11. Additional Requirements and Information Upon appointment, individuals must meet the requirements of Act 54 of 1986 and become registered as an electrical inspector and plan reviewer. Possession of a journey or master electrician's license issued by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth or a municipality with a state approved licensing program. Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license.
