SCOPE: As a Uniform Security Officer at DK Security, you will be responsible for the security and safety of our client's property, personnel, students, and visitors. You will patrol the campus both on foot and in vehicles, and implement emergency response activities as appropriate, while providing superior customer service.

- 16-32+ hours / week (part-time)

LOCATION: Traverse City, Michigan
JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must provide excellent customer service.
- Guard posts – this may include residence halls, college classrooms, outdoor college campus, etc.
- Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of the interior and exterior of buildings.
- Monitor surroundings on closed-circuit television.
- Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
- Check for student, employee and vendor identifications.
- Must follow site specific post guidelines.
- Document daily activities and incident reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- May NOT have any felony convictions and must be able to pass a criminal background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and randomly thereafter.
- Must present a friendly, positive, and professional image.
- Must be willing to become CPR/1st Aide/AED Certified.
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the duration of the shift, including walking long distances, and possibly up and down stairs
- Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Must have a valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Less than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years
- Less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years
- No other major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
