The Lead Customer Service Representative receives and processes telephone, fax and consignment requests for home medical equipment, including respiratory related equipment. The position may require work outside of the Adrian branch location to include physician office visitation/marketing activity to successfully attain necessary documentation for HME processes, training of physician office staff in processes or customer relations issues with requires an onsite visit. Other duties include:
Maintaining ongoing knowledge and understanding of Medicare, Medicaid and insurance regulations and ProMedica home Medical Equipment/ProMedica Corporate compliance plan
Assisting patients in the showroom with their medical equipment supplies, responding to phone requests from patients and their caregivers, providers discharge planners and other health care professionals for home medical equipment and supplies
Addressing customer complaints and concerns and advising management of issues when appropriate
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
Have at least 2 years HME experience
Knowledgeable in all facets of Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance guidelines, current product mix, and company policies and procedures
Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills
Willing to train new hires and continue to educate co-workers to enhance the knowledge of home medical equipment
Effective communication skills
Must be able to input and retrieve information from a computer
Must be able to communicate by telephone.
