Your Mission:
In this role, you will guarantee that our store environment is consistent and secure. This position plans, deploys and troubleshoots application stacks in support of our established retail operating environments and engineers' new environments for future-state objectives. You will work autonomously and with minimal direction.
How You'll Make an Impact:
Own the hardware spec for the point-of-sale environment and optimize platform builds and automation.
Develop and maintain the operating system build for the point-of-sale environment.
Automating, Builds, Tests, and Version control for point-of-sale software; speeding up the deployment process and delivering consistency.
Ensure System and service performance tuning, troubleshooting and debugging.
Implement monitoring technologies for determining store health, versions, and reporting.
Develop system configuration management templates, and audit systems against those templates over the system lifecycle.
Assist when needed cross-functionally with deployment and ecommerce support teams.
Work with developers to quickly identify and address issues to provide smooth code rollouts and seamless change back-out when there are problems.
Work with level 1 & 2 helpdesk to ensure the environment is consistent and can be supported.
Develop consistent documentation for engineering and knowledgebase articles for support teams.
Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues.
Work with QA to assist in creating test environments.
Assist with troubleshooting store configurations and middleware connecting stores.
Install configure and maintain "cloud" hosting technologies.
Work with virtualization, container technologies and routine task automation.
Who You Are:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar area. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of four (4) years of Windows systems administration experience.
Experience with OS build standardization, systems hardening and virtualization.
Experience with modern configuration management tools like Ansible (preferred), Puppet, Chef, Intune, SCCM; Cloud Monitoring/Deployment Mgmt.
Working knowledge and experience with Networking fundamentals (LINUX).
Expert skill level in Scripting and Automation/Containerization; Kubernetes.
Willingness to document technical processes and share knowledge with others.Capable of following and composing process and procedure documentation, as well as training other users on complex topics.
Ability to interact with colleagues from all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical, and communicate technical ideas effectively.
Ability to participate in an on-call rotation performing weekend and after-hours support.
Ability to provide engineering level support, on a 24 x 7 schedule, for all operational and outage issues relating to the infrastructure.
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
Someone driven to get an "extra 9" of availability.
What Will Make You Stand Out:
QSR experience.
Linux systems administration experience is a plus (UBUNTU); MDM (Mobile Device Management) AIRWATCH, MS Intune, or similar.
Miscellaneous pluses: Azure, Tanium, Python, Imaging experience (Clonezilla, PXE, etc.); configuration management
Ability to learn new technologies or support existing applications quickly and with minimal guidance.
