Description OverviewPerrigo has an opening for a SQL Server Database Administrator. This person will be part of a global team responsible for implementing scalable, highly available, secure database environments. The ideal candidate will leverage leading-edge technology to position the organization for success, while improving efficiency and supporting aggressive growth. #LI - RemoteScope of the Role• Partner with Architecture/Technical teams to provide technical expertise in the use of database technology and design optimal solutions
• Perform assigned tasks in the areas of database administration including installation, backups, cluster setup, 24x7 support, capacity planning, and database performance tuning
• Maintain compliance with regular operating system and database patching
• Quickly diagnose problem areas and provide workable solutions to resolve issues
• Conduct data migrations, upgrades, and database refreshes
• Participate on multiple projects sometimes as a technical lead or advisor
• Assist project teams in identifying database requirements, performance, and cost implications
• Generate and maintain scripts to support DB creation, administration, task automation and related activities
• Continually improve database administration standards, guidelines, and procedures
• Vendor management and license compliance
• Maintain high customer satisfactionExperience Required• Experience in supporting multi-instance SQL Server 2012 R2 – 2019 environments
• Practical knowledge of T-SQL programming language
• Hands-on experience with MS Failover Clusters and Availability Groups
• Practical knowledge and experience with performance tuning
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Microsoft Azure preferred
• Experience administering Oracle 12c-19c environments is preferred
• Experience with large databases (1+TB) preferred
• Experience with PowerShell scripting preferred
• These skills are typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree within Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Combined with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience
