Essential Functions (Job Duties):
Participate in the teaching programs of the department of pathology and the School of Medicine.
Conduct research in line with the goals of the department.
Actively participate in the research programs of the department and its major clinical partners in pediatric health.
Serve on Departmental and professional committees.
Major clinical service responsibilities being in the area of Pediatric pathology performed mostly at The Children's Hospital of Michigan.
Participate in selected intra and interdepartmental conferences and tumor boards according to area of interest and to staffing needs.
Participate in the departmental quality assurance/quality control activities as required by our departmental plans and by the regulatory agencies such as the College of American Pathologists.
Support the medical education and scholarly missions of the department and SOM through participation in the teaching programs of the department and school as appropriate, residents/fellow mentoring and supervision including generating data to publish manuscripts and support grant submissions as appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
MD required.
AP/CP board certified pathologist with subspecialty certification or board eligibility in pediatric pathology.
Ability to obtain Michigan Medical License.
Rank commensurate with credentials.

The department is involved in the education of medical students, residents and fellows and has an ACGME accredited Pediatric Pathology Fellowship program. The position offers tremendous research opportunities in collaboration with the basic science and clinical faculty of the department and its extensive collaborative programs.
