Description
Position Summary:
Performs all functions necessary to provide sleep center services in a safe, efficient, friendly, and cost-effective manner. Supervises the Sleep Center daily operations, staffing, and systems. Responsible for basic human resources functions including employment decisions, training of new and existing employees, and staff evaluations. May also function as a technologist.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Assigns work to employees and directs the work flow in the Sleep Center.
Manages workload, may supervise technical and/or support staff; resolves daily challenges that present during assigned shift.
Ensures accurate, timely, and appropriate sleep center services, in compliance with all healthcare regulatory requirements and applicable state and federal laws.
Qualifications
Required:
Completed training in polysomnography in a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) program with the polysomnography option.
Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential through the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM), National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT), or another organization that offers an equivalent examination accepted by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
Two years of clinical experience in a hospital sleep center, outpatient clinic or related medical facility.
BLS certification.
Preferred:
Experience in leadership roles.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, health services administration or related health field.
