SUMMARY
Munson Healthcare Foundations has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned fundraising professional and leader to join our team as a Stewardship & Annual Giving Manager. The ideal candidate for this role is an engaging, articulate, and dynamic professional with demonstrated success in building relationships and providing high-level customer service to major gift donors and prospects, as well as executives and leaders within our organization.
Located on the freshwater shoreline of Lake Michigan, Munson Healthcare, our nine-hospital health care system headquartered in Traverse City, MI, is in the midst of exciting development and is well-positioned for continued growth and success. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in communications, business, or related area. • At least three (3) years' experience in fundraising preferably in the area of direct mail, annual and mid-level donor strategy and community outreach. • At least three (3) years' experience in effectively managing others. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Willingness to make presentations to community groups. • Personable. • In depth understanding of database programs and ability to develop strategies to segment data. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, e-mail and other computer systems. • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, deadline driven environment with strong focus on goal attaining objectives. • Comfortable working with donors. • Sound understanding of charitable giving process and accounting for gifts. • Ability to multi-task.
ORGANIZATION
This position reports to the President of Munson Healthcare Foundation (MHF).
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Supports the mission statement of Munson Healthcare Foundation to inspire charitable support to enhance health care for the people in northern Michigan.

Reports any unsafe situation/equipment according to Munson Healthcare System procedures.
Manages staff who are responsible for direct mail solicitation, annual and mid-level donor outreach and solicitation, event management and community stewardship throughout the system.
Works with the Foundation leadership team to develop annual giving plan to raise at least $2.5 million annually throughout Munson Healthcare through direct mail solicitation, mid-level donation strategy, workplace campaigns, sponsorships and events.
Works with Foundation leadership team to develop annual stewardship plan designed to thank and report back to donors in an effective manner.
Works with Foundation staff to oversee direct mail solicitations for healthcare system and acknowledgment process, including establishing compelling and relevant asks, purchasing lists and segmenting and optimizing donor lists.
Develops policies and procedures to maintain best practice level regarding securing and stewarding gifts.
Acts as staff liaison for various volunteer and board committees as it relates to annual and mid-level giving and donor stewardship.
Acts as staff liaison for various organizations and groups organizing special events to benefit system organizations and programs. Ensures that event guidelines are met and volunteer groups are recognized for their efforts.
Prepares reports on contacts and fundraising efforts.
Makes presentations to community groups about the work of various Munson system organizations.
Performs other projects as assigned.
