Description
This is not a Civil Service Position. DWSD employees are subject to provisions of Court Orders entered in United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, Southern Division, Case No. 77-71100 with regard to certain terms and conditions of employment.

SUMMARY:
As a Supply Chain Analyst at the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department, this non-union full time employee is responsible for the Supply Chain data analytics, reporting, metric-tracking, cross-functionally coordinating special projects for the DWSD Procurement and Materials Management teams, along with resolution of IT tickets belonging to this group. This role requires a high level of accuracy, the ability to problem solve, analyze detail, evaluate and summarize results and communicate applicable recommendations in a clear and concise manner. To succeed, he or she must be detail oriented, results driven, meticulously organized, have strong analytical & communication skills, with a positive "can-do" attitude and strong work ethic, provide excellent customer service, and works well on a team as well as under minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Liaison for all Supply Chain related IT projects & IT tickets to ensure quick resolution of technical issues Coordinating Supply Chain projects cross functionally - tasks include but are not limited to updating status reports, developing management updates, coordination of discovery and requirements gathering, coordination and development of training and testing for new software launches.
Creation of reports periodically to provide summary analysis for distribution to internal and external stakeholders consistently and on time
Analysis of data to uncover issues, propose solutions, and improve business processes and procedures,
Ensures Supply Chain systems and data integrity along with trouble shooting to ensure correct data is being recorded
Tracks and reports on all team KPIs and relays information monthly to the Manager
Monitors departmental budget and liaises cross-functionally to ensure incorrect entries are resolved
Coordinates key Supply Chain projects, to ensures quick and efficient results on high priority departmental goals
Maintains tracking matrix and provides weekly progress updates to Supply Chain manager.
Ensures Supply Chain documentation, work instructions, standard operating procedures, related to this function, are electronically stored, up to date, and published.
Maintain Supply Chain intranet web site, BOX and other shared platforms with periodic updates that includes but is not limited to, reports, standard operating procedures, forms, etc.
Conduct periodic audits on warehouse & Procurement processes to ensure adherence to group standard operating procedures.
Enforce organizational principles of integrity and compliance to work rules.
Assist manager in annual procurement & warehouse forecasting and strategic planning
Train and direct supporting staff.
RELATED JOB FUNCTIONS:
Participate in continuous improvement activities to gain operational efficiencies, cross train to understand cross-functional interdependencies within the group to be effective, efficient and productive.
Recommend, comply with, support and ensure DWSD policies and procedures are adhered to.
Perform related work duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Experience in major software - Cognos / Power BI / Oracle Analytics, Smartsheets, MS Office Suite, Oracle-WAM reporting; Assetworks
Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) is a plus
Project Management
Procurement standard procedures and general workflows
Working knowledge of Warehousing standard procedures / Inventory stock level management procedures / workflows. Perpetual inventory recording and accepted purchasing practices of a large organization

Escalate all emergency / critical issues, accidents or safety concerns to the Supply Chain Manager immediately via text / phone call and followed up with email.
Ensure all emergency situations are addressed to ensure immediate safety of all personnel and then, Safety team & Supply Chain Manager must be notified ASAP.
Minimum Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (position requirements at entry):
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics, IT, or related field.
3 years of Supply Chain analytics experience and project management experience is preferred.
Ability to analyze data, compile relevant information and effectively communicate effectively, and succinctly to all levels of organization is critical.
Strong writing skills and the ability to convey complex information in a way that is understandable to others is essential.
Must be: detail oriented, able to multitask, interpersonal, able to effectively communicate, able to prioritize and produce high quality work, ontime, and accurately.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills are required,
Experience working in & good understanding of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle Fusion, etc.) required.
Experience with data mining and Structured Query Language tools preferred.
Knowledge of data analysis and forecasting required,
Working knowledge of regression analysis preferred.
Knowledge of statistics software packages (R, SAS, etc.), VBA and Microsoft Project will be a plus
Additional education or other relevant experience may be substituted for experience requirement.
