POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, installs telecommunications network equipment at a customer site or at an organization location. Interprets service orders, circuit diagrams and electrical schematics. Installs, rearranges and removes telecommunications equipment and associated wiring. Verifies work order information and receipt of all necessary equipment and information. Also serves as the point of contact for users to receive support and maintenance with telecommunications equipment. Resolves telecommunication system failures through isolation, analysis, and troubleshooting of problem areas.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: • Must have one of the following (required): o Associate's degree (preferably IS/Business or healthcare emphasis) with 2 years' relevant experience (IS/Business or healthcare) o Bachelor's degree (preferably IS/Business or healthcare emphasis) o 4 years in healthcare or IS/Business experience
• Experience in Information Systems (IS) beneficial • Experience in healthcare beneficial ? Technical Knowledge • The ability to escalate more complex issues to appropriate IS staff required. • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office required. • Provide basic one-on-one education to users required. • Adheres to all policy standards in house as well as industries best practice required. • Basic electronic background required.

ORGANIZATION Under the general supervision of a Manager but may receive advice and assistance from the Director of Information Systems, Lead Computer Operator or Analyst(s). A working relationship with all Information Systems staff must be maintained.
A professional working relationship with staff from user departments, other regional healthcare facilities, and hardware vendors must be maintained. The operator is under the supervision of the on call Manager whenever the Manager is unavailable. No managerial and supervisory responsibility.

Functional Knowledge -
• Assist in the installation of new systems and the relocation of systems already in place (including wiring, termination, testing, labeling, etc). • Responsible for maintaining departmental documentation including hardware inventory as well as billing records for customers. • Assist in the installation of new systems and the relocation of systems already in place. • Assists in maintaining technical documentation of department processes and procedures. • Monitors, troubleshoots, and resolves first level issues in a network environment using established procedures. Other issues are escalated to analysts, engineers, or other on-call staff. • Monitors, troubleshoots, and resolves first level problems related to applications, interfaces, and processes in a multiplatform environment following documented procedures. • Monitors safety systems and the physical security of the Data Center and ensures that policies and procedures are followed. • Maintains proper security at all times. • Performs spreadsheet, database, and word processing functions. • Documents hardware and software problems when they occur, contacts the appropriate vendors or analysts, and acts as a contact person throughout the resolution process. • Assists with installation of new software, report distribution, etc. • Assists in pre-defined operations during downtime procedures. • Performs On-call functions as needed. • Acts as on-site contact for system environment as it relates to issue resolution. Actively works to prevent problems • Provides operational support of Telecommunications technology. • Provides concise, timely, and detailed written documentation of activities related to service requests. Depending on the SLA agreements, seeks others to assist with the problem. • Maintains technical documentation on department processes. • Monitors and processes trouble tickets. • Monitors safety systems and the physical security of the Data Center and ensures that policies and procedures are followed. • Monitors and assure the successful completion of scheduled jobs, processes and tasks. • Monitors Telecommunication inventory and orders supplies as needed. • Performs spreadsheet, database, and word processing functions. Assists others as requested. • Maintains proper security at all times. Makes recommendation for improving security within IS. • Documents hardware and software problems when they occur, contacts the appropriate vendors or analysts, and acts as a contact person throughout the resolution process. • Operates various types of testing equipment for telecommunication voice and data networks. • Maintaining operating documentation for the department. • Performs adds, moves, and changes with limited supervision. • Assists with pre-defined operations during downtime procedures. Assists with the development of the documentation and recommends areas for improvement • Participate on teams within the IS department if interest is expressed. • Works to resolve conflict within Telecommunications. • Assists in the training of the Associate Telecommunications Specialist.
