Position duties include but are not limited to: supervising and coordinating the shop and/or field function for the department or branch.
Service operations leader with accountability of all results (profitability, customer perspective, rework, quality, turnover, employee attitudes, etc.) within span of control
Maintain and coordinate the entire service function, managing the service and repair of equipment implementing and executing the functions of price, quality and turn-around
Maintain a customer driven work area focused on price, quality, and turnaround
Schedule work and coordinate daily shop functions emphasizing what the expected time and cost goal is to complete the job. Measurement and evaluation of jobs completed on time and at a profit established.
Communicate with customers, management, suppliers and technicians to assure smooth operation of the shop.
Direct Leadmen and technicians in their function and make plans for their future training and development, with strong emphasis on coaching.
Assist in trouble shooting and repair of equipment as needed to promote and support timely repair of equipment and the coaching of technician.
Manage work in process, estimates/quotes, and work order functions.
Assure strong relationships with customers by timely follow-up with quotes, phone calls, questions etc.
Control shop expenses in relationship to the volume of work and understand the inter-relationship of rework, variance, safety, tool expense etc. to the overall profit.

Involved with the hiring and firing, oversee the evaluation, training and development of all personnel within span of control.

Perrforms other related duties as assigned by management
Knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through a high school education or the equivalent with additional training preferred through a vocational school with studies in diesel technology.
A minimum of five years' experience in diesel technology and three years customer service experience or the equivalent.
Must have a strong work ethic and commitment to doing whatever it takes to accomplish the task at hand.
Must have a strong initiative and the ability to establish goals and accomplish them in alignment with overall company objectives.
Must have a strong desire to develop and coach employees, setting examples of desired behaviors.
Must be able to exhibit strong company loyalty and commitment to company overall objectives
An excellent knowledge of the product and a strong knowledge of the product market.
The ability to uphold professionalism and ethical behavior with both internal and external customers, including personal appearance and friendly, courteous treatment of peers, subordinates and customers.
Excellent data base computer skills with a strong ability to operate industry specific PC and main frame programs with a basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
