The position will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a program of support designed to aid in the retention and academic success for all students with an emphasis on students assigned to the Academic & Career Advisement Center (ACAC) including undeclared, General University Studies (associate degree), and probation students. In addition, the Coordinator will be responsible for one major area within the scope of the ACAC's mission (career exploration, tutoring, academic proficiency, first year programs, etc.).
Minimum qualification: Master’s Degree preferably in Counseling, Higher Education, Training and Development, Public Administration. Two years' higher education administration work experience or three academic years of K-12 education work experience. Two years' work experience in one of the following areas: advising (academic or career), teaching, academic counseling, or student services (including graduate assistant experience).
Knowledge/skills/abilities required: Knowledge and experience advising or teaching or counseling. Experience and skill with computer applications, including word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet applications, etc. Effective communication skills, both written and oral. Effective public speaking abilities.
The position is ten months and the time off will be arranged with the supervisor. The schedule is traditionally Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm with occasional evening work required. The targeted prorated salary range is $34,666-$35,832.
