Perform a wide variety of clerical duties in the medical office, must maintain excellent public relations while striving to maintain an efficient and productive front office. Must maintain an efficient patient flow for the Medical Assistants and Providers. Must demonstrate competency in understanding growth/development and communication skills for all age specific groups. Responds to patients billing inquiries and questions regarding coverage and co-insured/deductible responsibilities. Collect co-pays and payments.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have experience with, and a basic understanding of, personal computer operation and applications and practice management utilization.
Ability to work with the public.

ORGANIZATION
Reports to Manager, Ambulatory Physician Practices
Must have the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, and able to articulate and demonstrate commitment to the Mission and Values of Munson Medical Center. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, the Organizational Integrity Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

This position's access to information systems will be based on job duties and reasonably limited to the minimum information necessary for the position to carry out its duties. Enter and update patient information and insurance into computer system
Answer the telephone, screen calls, take messages and provide information.
Schedule appointments and maintain appointment books.
Reschedule appointments due to physician changes as needed.
Reschedule appointments due to patients' requests and records cancellations and no shows in patients' charts.
Oversee waiting area, coordinate patient movements and report problems and irregularities.
Receive patients and visitors; obtain necessary information for processing.
Post money collected from payments and co-pays received.
Refer patients with billing problems to the billing department.
Scan and file all diagnostic test results and correspondence.
Maintain patient surveillance module for diagnostic test and referrals. (Locate testing that was ordered and not received)
Process request for release of information on priority basis from patients, clinical staff, insurance companies and attorneys, etc.
Verify all insurances for upcoming patient appointments.
Verifying and entering patient co-pays
Entering alerts in patient's charts, notifying Medical Receptionist what is needed from patients at check-in.
Attend staff meetings and education sessions as required.
Report need for supplies and report equipment malfunctions relating to job function.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
