Job Description
The candidate will conceptualize and develop a wide variety of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models to directly impact design. Simulations will be focused on the electric drive system domain: electric motor, inverter, drive unit & thermal systems development. This role includes the development and coupling of electrical, mechanical & electromagnetic Finite Element (FE) solutions. Development of new and refinement of existing procedures in the above domains is also a core responsibility.
Required Skills and Experience:
* 2+ years of post-graduation experience with CFD analysis of propulsion related systems
* Experience with STAR-CCM+, Simerics-MP+, or Fluent CFD software
* Experience with coupled thermal-electrical simulations
* Familiarity or practical experience with the principles of electric motor design, testing, or operation
* Experience with CAE decision support within the automotive production design process
* Experience with programming in Java, Python or equivalent languages
Preferred Skills and Experience:
* Proficient with STAR-CCM+ or Simerics-MP+ CFD software
* Experience with JMAG, Maxwell, or equivalent electromagnetic software
* Experience with test to model correlation
* Experience with electric drive system CFD thermal modeling
* Experience with the latest CFD visualization techniques
* Linux experience in distributed computing environments
Education and Training:
* BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering required
* MS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering with coursework in heat transfer and fluid mechanics preferred
