Description
Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Tax Leader located virtual office in the U.S. or Bay City, MI. The Senior Tax Leader will be responsible for preparing all aspects of US international tax compliance, domestic tax, and some aspects of tax accounting. The role is in tax operations in partnership with various teams within tax (planning, controversy, tax accounting, etc.).
Responsibilities / Duties:
Oversees/coordinates/Prepare and reviews all aspects of U.S tax computations (international and domestic) for purposes of quarterly tax provision and tax return preparation, including GILTI, FDII, Subpart F and FTC calculations
Oversees/coordinates/Prepare and reviews international tax calculations and reporting required for U.S. Income tax returns (Form 1118, 5471 etc.)
Serves as a subject matter expert supporting the Tax Operations/Compliance with regards primarily to U.S. International tax calculations but also domestic tax
Partners with various tax teams to analyze impacts of restructuring and significant transactions
Supports controversy team with tax audit requirements
Remains current on tax developments and proposed tax guidance.
Work on implementation/changes required by changes to tax law/regulations
Provides comprehensive tax services (i.e.. Planning, compliance, and accounting) to several large subsidiaries.
Develops strategic insights in tax planning through in-depth knowledge of GAAP and recommends actions which will maximize shareholder value.
Reviews and monitors events/transactions which could impact quality of data- and when necessary, takes immediate action to influence work and accounting practices.
Works with business and functional leaders to analyze and recommend valuable after-tax planning opportunities / tax compliance
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a finance related or legal discipline
7 + years of experience in tax related roles (preference 10 years)
Strong experience in US international taxes
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
This position does not offer relocation assistance.
