Job Description
You will be responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services. Responsible for actively participating in development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, global/regional material budget execution, and interface with suppliers or internal stakeholders. Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and a high level of independent judgment.
Partner with Program Managers to represent purchasing and communicate program requirements/vehicle line overview.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins, paint, electronics, etc)
* Experience managing commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance
* Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills
* Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
* High level of analytical ability where problems can be somewhat complex
* Developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines

* Automotive industry experience
* Knowledge of procurement software
* Knowledge of materials management
* Capable of interpreting market data
* Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents
* Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes
* Proficient with Microsoft office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* A minimum of 5 years relevant experience
