GM Defense IT team is spearheading the deployment of robust and secure IT solutions to meet functional, non-functional requirements as well as mandatory defense regulatory and compliance requirements. As part of this team, the Enterprise Architect is a well-rounded leadership position responsible for overseeing the end to end design, integration and deployment of IT solutions to meet current and future needs complying with technology, security and compliance requirements.
The ability to baseline the current state and define the transformation to a desired state with active engagement from business teams, IT teams and leadership is the key responsibility of this role. In this role the Enterprise Architect is also required to exhibit multi-discipline business and technical acumen to engage GMIT verticals and horizontals. This individual will be required to understand existing GMD IT assets and possess implementation knowledge of GMIT standards and industry standard architectures. Finally, this individual will need to possess strong architecture governance expertise. A key tenet of this role is to operate in a start-up model while having access to large pool of technologies and resources.
GM Defense engages with government and defense customers and must conform to DoD regulatory requirements for defense contractors. All IT solutions must be considered in light of the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Support (DFARS) and International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) criteria for contractors and defense manufacturers. The GM Defense IT team has been tasked with architecting and delivering a government compliant technical environment to run their business. This individual will possess the ability to work across GM IT vertical and horizontal IT organizations to lead the development of an end-to-end government compliant architecture. This individual will require an understanding of NIST 800-171 controls, as well as understanding the additional practices that come with the newly released Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). This individual will be skilled in analytical thinking with an affinity for applying a practical approach and using it to guide cross-functional teams.
Additional Job Description
Major Duties / Responsibilities:
* Define and own enterprise architecture framework and artifacts to ensure alignment with business programs, end to end process model, systems realization model, needed IT transformation, cross-stream integration and hosting capabilities.
* Responsible to engage architects/functional IT leads from across GMIT verticals as well as horizontals to assess the needs, identify the solutions, assess gaps, define a framework to address the gaps, facilitate defining an interlocked transformation plan including identifying the ownership of the delivery.
* Responsible for comprehending the functional, nonfunctional, security, regulatory and compliance requirements, data classifications and drive the design and operating procedures.
* Own the end to end compute model including the Client strategy, Network, Access, Security and Datacenter, Tooling and Connectivity solutions to deliver optimal IT capability complying with current GMIT standards as well as defense industry NIST and DFARS standards.
* Able to provide IT solutions to support concurrent business programs to comply with various security ratings of Classified secret programs, ITAR programs as well as Controlled Unclassified programs.
* Able to interact with Vendors, other defense partners, Suppliers to evaluate products and integration solutions meeting GMIT technical standards, security standards as well as defense industry compliance requirements.
* Define and Own Architecture management and governance for GM Defense including leading Architecture Review board, author review templates, checklists, approval process to ensure compliance with GMIT technology and security standards as well as defense compliance requirements.
* Ensure close engagement with GM Defense Information Security Management policies and recommendations, support compliance audits, GMIT security standards, required patching to maintain secure IT environment.
* Lead and participate in troubleshooting application incidents, resolving deployment issues, application ownership of GMD specific tools and solutions, integration failures, ability to mine the logs, coordinate cross functional triage and provide long term implementation guidance.
* Possess strong domain knowledge of product design, finance and planning, order management, sourcing and purchasing, manufacturing, quality and aftersales business processes is a plus.
* Co-own IT operating model in technical aspects of change management, CAB, firewall, data archival, software packaging and install, deployment tooling and monitoring.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in IT related discipline, Masters preferred
* 15 years or more experience developing/deploying IT systems in a professional/corporate environment
* 5 years or more in Enterprise Architecture including current state analysis, process model, capability model, systems model and transformation
* 5 years or more leading solution/software architecture for project implementation
* 5 years or more in architecting for security and identity solutions using Encryptions, SAML, SSO etc.
* 5 years or more in technology implementation such as Java, .Net, JavaScript, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, SaaS Solutions etc.
* 5 years or more implementing in architectures using REST, SOAP, Webservices, COTS solutions
* Proficiency with EA modeling tools such as Sparx EA etc.
* Knowledge of EA frameworks such as TOGAF etc.
