GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the timely and accurate movement of components used in manufacturing, management of material flow into the production scheme, and coordinating the flow of materials requiring transportation with in the manufacturing facility.
Essential Functions:
Works with quality and production in order to manage the process of moving parts and materials throughout the manufacturing plant (kanban system) Maintain a computerized inventory system (ERP), reconciling discrepancies as required. Must be able to proficiently operate a variety of material handling equipment which may include, but not limited to: fork lifts, pallet jacks, and dollies. Work with quality technicians and logistics material handlers to ensure correct component identification and traceability. Conducts fact finding and problem solving as required. Assist the Team leader with miscellaneous duties and projects as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Education or Equivalent.
Basic Computer skills.
Forklift license required.
Must have good communication skills, a customer service orientation, self-motivated, very organized, enthusiastic, detail oriented, resourceful, willing and able to work long hours (including overtime as required), and possess a sense of urgency.
PHYSICAL/SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
May involve prolonged periods of stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, sitting, standing, and/or crawling.
Requires the ability to lift/carry up to 75 lbs on a frequent basis.
Coordination of eye, hand, and/or foot movement with an ability to grasp by hand and meet cognitive demands to include visual and auditory discrimination/memory, reading ability, memory retention ability, and safe physical operation of all equipment used.
Requires the use of various safety equipment including safety glasses, and adherence to good housekeeping, quality standards, and safety policies.
Must satisfactorily meet requirements of an ongoing training program.
Requires use of safety glasses in designated areas.
Closed-toe shoes must be worn on the production floor; safety shoes are recommended.
