Position Summary
Greets patients in order to determine needs; registers and directs patients to the correct appointment areas; records chief complaint; takes vital signs, health information; and performs routine tests and procedures including venipuncture, blood pressures, pulse rates, respirations, heights, weights, prepares equipment/supplies and cleans examination rooms in order to prepare the patients for examinations; verifies insurance coverage and authorizations and collects payments from patients; assists health care providers during examinations; performs chart prep and other tasks assigned by manager; completes EMR tasks.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a medical office setting or in a clinical setting performing routine health assessment tests; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require experience in the use word processing and database software, a specified medical course such as Nurse Health Aid and Phlebotomy, or Medical Billing and Medical Terminology experience. May require knowledge of electronic medical record and patient scheduling systems. Certified Medical Assistant.
Desired Qualifications
Family Medicine outpatient experience. Experience as a medical assistant.

Work Hours
Work hours are typically 8:00am - 5:00pm, but can vary as necessary to accommodate clinic operations.
Summary of Health Risks
Exposure to human blood, serum, tissue and other body fluids; and materials covered under Universal Precautions; TB risk or work within three (3) feet of patients in a health care setting; wear a respirator and compliance with influenza policy. Covid precautions.
