Job Description:
Infotainment Component Test Engineer
Vehicle Infotainment Systems are a rapidly developing area of automotive engineering. Our client is advancing the art of vehicle software at every level of functionality and design. We are developing beautiful intuitive systems that enhance the traveler experience.
This is a test execution role where you will contribute to the development and test of embedded software for our client's Infotainment components. This includes execution of automated and manual tests on benches and in vehicles
• Responsible for executing both manual and automated test scripts to verify Infotainment component functional and performance requirements.
• Configure benches to support specific test scenarios
• Characterize and document defects including identifying steps to reproduce, linking failures to requirements, and collecting all associated test logs
• Interact with multiple engineering disciplines (Systems, Software Development, Validation, Suppliers) to support defect resolution
• Develop and Update test cases as required
• Verify operation of Infotainment features that function on CAN, Ethernet and LIN communication protocols
• Provide regular status updates and complete documentation and test results
• Perform Diagnostics, Partial Network and DPS Calibration testing
Qualifications
Required:
• Familiarity with Firewall and Packet filters, OTA and transport layer
• Experience with Bluetooth sniffer tools and protocol analyzers
• Understanding of Vehicle Electrical Architecture and Subsystem/Features in the Infotainment domain
• Degrees: B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering Required
• Min of 2 years' experience in Automotive Test Automation Development
• Experience with GMLAN/CAN vehicle communication system and CAN based monitoring tools.
• Understanding of Object Oriented Programming
• Strong Project Management and Organizational skills
• Ability to manage complex problems and propose solutions
• High level of oral and written communication skills
• High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others
Education:
-Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering required.
-2-5 years of relatable experience ideal.
Work Site Description: Candidate will start remote, however, they will need to have the ability to come on site as needed.
Software Engineers perform requirements analysis. They then design, develop or maintain the physical application (components) or the application environment, based on the Software Architecture (models and principles). Activities include coding, integrating, implementing, installing or changing frameworks and standard components, or technical and functional application management. A Software Engineer also develops languages, methods, frameworks and tools, and/or undertakes activities in support of server-based databases in development, test and production environments.
Required Skills and Experience:
You are an experienced Software Engineer. You have received training and mastered at least one technology environment. You are good at elaborating technology areas and have an ability to position them within the scope of an overall project. You are a member of at least one community.
• Qualification: 2-5 years (1 year min relevant experience in the role) experience, Bachelor's Degree.
• Certification: Should have or seeking SE Level 1.
• Should have progressing knowledge in Business Analysis, Business Knowledge, Software Engineering, Testing, Data Management, Architecture Knowledge and Technical Solution Design.
