Job Summary:
To set and remove injection molds with a team approach and to ensure production efficiency meets the desired target, troubleshoot processing problems during production, reduce scrap and provide continual improvement of injection molding processes within the plant.
Essential Job Functions:
- Material lot control, and traceability, non-conforming product procedures, measurement and checking gauges in order to effectively perform the functions of the job.
- Operate injection molding machines, end of arm tooling, auxiliary equipment, and adhere to lock-out/tag-out procedures and policies.
- Complete changeover of molds, end of arm tooling, startup/shutdown of the injection molding process and related automation and obtain first and last piece inspection.
- Operate industrial truck, overhead cranes, mobile cranes, aerial platform, and bolster cart, according to safety standards.
- Participate in 5S, Lean Manufacturing, keep work areas clean, orderly, and identify opportunities for improvement of cycle time, scrap reduction, and efficiency.
- Perform preventative maintenance on molds and components, End of Arm Tooling, and auxiliary equipment. Perform Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
- Develop job-specific instructions for each changeover, and provide the best practice using Lean techniques.
- Document all changes required, report problems, and provide engineering change requests, and corrective actions to the Supervisors and Process Engineers.
- Complete all production paperwork and forms pertaining to the machines such as master set-up sheets, mold tag systems, and product order and maintenance forms, etc.
- Perform moisture testing, and documentation of hygroscopic materials.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per the safety policies.
- Follow all IAFT-16949 and ISO-14001 policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of injection molding processing and die setting experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Motor coordination, manual and finger dexterity.
Job Preferences:
- Computer Skills (AS 400 & Microsoft Office).
- 3-5 years of injection molding processing experience.
- Familiar with six axis and three axis robotic programming.
- Kaizen/Lean Manufcaturing Experience.
Shift: 7:00 pm - 3:00 am
Reports to: Production Supervisor
Status: Full Time/Hourly Non-Exempt (40 hrs./week; additional hours as needed to support company and individual goals).
