POSITION SUMMARY:
The DBT Adult Therapist is responsible for providing treatment services to adult clients enrolled in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) treatment program, including individual and group psychotherapy, on-call phone coaching using the DBT phone coaching model, comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, case management/case coordination, and coordination of all services to best promote overall health, wellness, and recovery. Caseload varies from moderate to severe intensity, with overlapping disorders of mental illness, substance use, and medical health.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or Clinical Psychology from an accredited school.
- LMSW, LLMSW, LP, LLP, TLLP
- Minimum of one year experience in clinical services to individuals with severe mental illness, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and severe emotional disturbances/disruptive behaviors.
- Training in the examination, evaluation, and treatment of adults with emotional disorders.
- Knowledge of adult psychiatric disorders. Skills in mental health and substance abuse assessment and diagnosis based on DSM.
- Working knowledge of evidence-based treatments; understanding of evidence-based behavioral assessments and interventions relevant to medical conditions
- Flexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work, to accommodate the needs of clients.
- Training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) preferred, but not required. Must have basic understanding of behavioral principles and learning theory.
COMPENSATION:
$47,000 - $55,000 (Full-Time/Union)
