GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of a Respiratory Therapist, provides care to patients with acute and chronic illness by administering various therapeutic modalities and by providing reinforcement for the education and instruction developed in the patient care plan. Processes equipment and maintains inventory as directed by the Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Follow the patient care plan as developed by the Respiratory Therapist, adhering to established protocols for Med-Neb therapy and the initiation and titration of oxygen.
- Equipment processing, including high level disinfection of reusables, oxygen tank maintenance, and replenishing of supply par levels as needed.
- Perform chart review for verification of orders; provide electronic documentation; provide reinforcement of patient and family instruction.
- Participation in department Process Improvement (Kaizens).
- Equipment evaluation.
