Description:
Position Summary: Heart and Vascular, procedural department
Follows established procedures and guidelines while performing a wide variety of interventional procedures. Assists Radiologist and Nurses in providing quality patient care during interventional procedures. Responsible for the production of high quality diagnostic radiographs and/or imaging.
What you will need:
Associate's degree from an approved Registered Radiologic Technology (ARRT) Program
Two years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, working in a hospital Radiology Department Preferred Exposure to invasive procedures
Registered Technologist or registry-eligible with registry completed within one year of hire.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
Ability to stand (frequently); reach (occasionally); balance, bend, crouch, kneel, squat, stoop, twist, walk (occasionally); perform detailed tasks with interruptions (20-50% of the time); lift and carry, push/pull objects weighing over 60 lbs (5-20% of the time); hear and speak English, distinguish sounds, speak loudly and softly; near and far vision, depth perception and color distinction; distinguish hot/cold surfaces, odors, and textures; exhibit fine motor skills and manual dexterity. Lift up to a maximum of 35lbs. and perform push/pull tasks requiring a maximum force of 35 lbs. Ability to physically operate safe patient movement equipment in compliance with the Safe Patient Movement Policy.
What you will do:
Assists Radiologists and Nurses in the performance of a wide variety of invasive procedures.
Produces diagnostic radiographs/imaging with sophisticated equipment and adherence to radiation safety guidelines and proper shielding procedures.
Assesses patient condition to determine appropriate technique to use to perform examination.
Administers specific medication and barium solutions as directed by Radiologist or other physician, in accordance with established guidelines.
Oversees the maintenance and repair of interventional equipment. Participates in testing and selecting new equipment and products relating to Interventional Radiology.
Performs a wide variety of support functions, including scheduling patients, processing films, filing records and reports, monitoring supply inventory, cleaning equipment, and quality assurance and control.

20 hours per week
Two - ten hour shifts per week with a block schedule of the same day off every week.
Off-hours on call, one night a week (the same night weekly) and every 4th weekend.
