SUMMARY:
The Maintenance person basic machine maintenance and repairs. Oiling, greasing, adding water, changing filters, troubleshooting equipment, checking scales, record keeping. A backup for production when needed.
When on a production position. They are following the production lead person direction. As a production person they are a qualified and conscientious production team member that focuses on following food preparation standards while safely operating production equipment. This team member follows all Fry Krisp food and machine safety standards; and, meets or exceeds production goals. The General Laborer is responsible for ensuring that equipment conforms with company safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets up and operates equipment according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
- Selects mix recipes from production equipment displays based on job orders using inventory scanners.
- Maintains overall sanitation, health, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Prepares feeding devices and conveyors, starts and engages all necessary equipment.
- Monitors equipment to verify quality performance.
- Verifies measuring instruments such as gauges and scales are in proper working order.
- Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines.
- Operates a fork-truck to move material and unload/load trucks.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to read and follow written instructions, recipes, diagrams, and machine instructions.
- Ability to pass the “Phrase, basic math and word test for General Laborer.”
- Ability to obtain a fork-truck license.
- Ability to follow proper safety protocols.
- Ability to determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectations such as feed rates, recipe mix, and weights.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Mechanical background working with hands
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work in mildly noisy environments.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine.
Wage: $11.00/hour (to start) up to $16 – Full medical package [health/eyes/dental/disability-life insurance] profit sharing if full time.
Normal work week (Part time); Monday through Thursday 7.00am to 11am. Friday 7.0 0am to 11.30am. Some overtime is available
