The Licensed Practical Nurse E9 is an entry level LPN. A nurse occupying this position provides a full range of individualized member care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The LPN provides input into assessments, contributes to planning member care, implements and evaluates the effectiveness of member care, and administers prescribed medications.

In accordance with the CMS Omnibus COVID-19 Health Care Staff Interim Final Rule, this position requires staff to be fully vaccinated prior to their start date. Fully vaccinated is generally considered to be 2 weeks after the second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine. **This position is a test-designated position and subject to random drug and alcohol testing. DJ Jacobetti Home for Veterans is a 24-hour long-term care facility.

Leave Time

Paid Parental Leave
Provides eligible individuals up to 12 weeks of paid leave immediately following birth or adoption of a child.
Deferred Compensation
Employees may invest income in a tax-deferred retirement investment program. The state offers two optional deferred compensation plans, the 457 and 401(k). Employees decide the amount deducted from their paychecks.
Retirement
Employees receive a minimum 4% state contribution toward their retirement fund. If an employee elects to contribute more, the state will match up to 3%. The Office of Retirement Services administers two different retirement plans for State of Michigan employees: Defined Benefit (DB) (https://www.michigan.gov/orsstatedb) and Defined Contribution (DC) (https://www.michigan.gov/orsstatedc) . New hires can also receive up to a 2% employer match into a Personal Healthcare Fund and a lump-sum credit to a tax-deferred account if eligible.
