The ISO Certification Lead position provides critical direction and oversight in establishing Billerud NA's ISO Management System. As Billerud NA expands into additional sustainable product lines, it is critical to establish governance of several Management Systems, including, but not limited to, ISO certifications in Environmental, Quality, Food Safety, Energy and Work Environment. Additionally, the ISO Certification Lead would collaborate with the Global Management System team and work very closely with Billerud NA's manufacturing locations. In this forward-thinking role, you will work with cross functional teams comprised of Operations, Environmental, Sustainability, IT and Wood Supply to implement and lead ISO certifications and management programs in North America.
Key Accountabilities:
Promote and lead a safe work environment.
Assure environmental, health and safety compliance with the objective of achieving zero incidents.
Assess current work processes in Billerud NA's manufacturing locations and collaborate with the global program management team to develop and drive the establishing of ISO programs.
Develop and implement the system requirements for ISO programs (Environmental, Quality, Food Safety, Energy and Work Environment) including policies, procedures, work instructions and training.
Ensure all necessary documentation needed to support program management is identified, sustained and the workforce is trained appropriately.
Collaborate with IT to implement and maintain the necessary software needed to support ISO programs.
Collaborate with Billerud NA Manufacturing locations to prepare, coordinate and execute internal and external registrar audits, and coordinate all communications with the registrar.
Drive continuous improvement in the program management platform across Billerud NA.
Coordinate corrective actions in response to internal and external registrar non-conformances, findings and system weaknesses.
Provide program management data as needed to support the BillerudKorsns Annual and Sustainability Reports.
Support program management needs of the Transformation Program.
Liaison with customers on ISO program management requests.
Serve as the key contact for all stakeholder program management questions and inquiries (customers, investors, etc).
Work with and support the Billerud NA Leadership Team, the Environmental, Health and Safety Teams, and Operational Teams at the Escanaba, Quinnesec and Wisconsin Rapids facilities
Monitor and communicate any changes to existing ISO standards or any new ISO standards, and develop/coordinate training.
Foster and encourage teamwork relationships between the mills and corporate (both NA and Globally).
Required Skills
Minimum Required Skills:
Possess a strong interest in program management, continuous improvement and regulatory reporting
Strong organizational skills with a structured approach to problem solving
Adept at taking initiative and driving results
Strong internal drive to work independently, but also enjoys working on a team
Goal oriented
Demonstrated strong leadership skills including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel

Good communications skills, both written and oral
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of ISO Certification programs (Environmental, Quality, Food Safety, Energy and Work Environment)
Experience with establishing ISO programs
Experience with auditing ISO programs
Experience with system implementation
Understanding of pulp, paper and packaging processes
Required Experience
Minimum Required Experience and Education:
Bachelor's degree in pulp and paper science, engineering, environmental sciences, sustainability or related field
Preferably 5 - 7+ years of experience within the environmental/sustainability sector or the pulp and paper manufacturing industry
A passion to be a changemaker in the area of program management by challenging conventional processes and driving continuous improvement.
Travel:
Travel between the manufacturing facilities and NA Corporate office will be done on a regular basis and international travel to Sweden might occur.
