The Cost Estimator provides cost estimates of all project sizes to support capital and expense planning and projects. This role leads the quantification of the cost of defined scope of work to enable project teams and businesses to make sound cost-related decisions to manage the cost of the project within budget and in support of defined objectives.
KEY REPONSIBILITIES:
Develop simple to complex capital and expense estimates in support of project execution
Develop business-specific conceptual estimates in support of business investment options as requested
Support early Front End Loading team with economic evaluation of investment alternatives for various studies
Document the project cost estimating plan outlining the estimates to be provided, the required inputs from others as well as estimate completion milestones
Document all estimate exclusions and assumptions including the bases for contingency and allowances
Provide construction estimates for validation of contractors' bids or negotiation of contract extras
Review contractors' estimates for completeness and reasonable basis that support the project's scope and defined objectives
Provide scope change estimates for larger impact scope changes
Assist the project team in resolution of estimating issues involving cost, schedule & other changes
Conduct post-project audits to collect actual vs estimated data to ensure accuracy and continuous improvement of estimating assumptions and processes
