PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE- Alpena FULL TIME (35 Hours per week)
Classification: Public Health Nurse- Registered Nurse AFSCME Union Position, Non-exempt O*NET 29-1141.04
General Summary: A licensed registered nurse working to assist the public and serve their needs in the areas of reproductive health, communicable disease, immunizations, children’s special health care, and other Health Department services.
Duties:
- Providing skilled nursing care to individuals/families with their needs both in office and off-site.
- Complete and maintain accurate, adequate, and timely records in computer software products such as Microsoft Office, Electronic Medical Records software, and similar products.
- Utilize effective communication and conflict resolution skills to serve clientele in a tactful, objective, respectful manner while maintaining privacy and HIPAA compliance.
Requirements:
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Michigan.
- Ability to provide services to vulnerable populations in a culturally competent, inclusive, and non-judgmental manner.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent communication & organizational skills.
- Fluent in English. Additional languages beneficial.
Salary: $23.31 per hour in accordance with current Union contract plus full benefit package. $24.04 per hour for Bachelor prepared RN.
