Job Title: Comunications Specialist - Executive Communications
SUMMARY
The Communications Specialist - Executive Communications will coordinate various initiatives requiring strategic planning through tactical execution. Responsible for key internal communications activities, projects and events to support the company's business objectives. The specialist will be a critical member of the communications team and will interface with executive management.
This position has specific emphasis on executive communications and coordination, with the ability to tell compelling stories in a clear and simple manner and needs to excel at visual storytelling from concept to completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:
* Coordinate various initiatives requiring strategic planning through tactical execution.
* Assist and coordinate development of executive communication initiatives, including speechwriting, talking points, executive memos, presentations and other high-level communications, primarily on behalf of executives and targeted to a wide variety of internal and external audiences.
* S trong creative, verbal, visual and written communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
* Coordinate executive leadership and enterprise-wide events.
* Assist and coordinate internal change management communications.
* Employee intranet content development.
* Serve as consultative subject matter expert for internal stakeholders and communications representative on various project teams
* Business unit communications planning and execution, including leadership and all-empl oyee meetings and events.
* Writing and editing internal newsletters and executive communications.
* Develop, program and produce special events, as needed.
* Collaborate with parent company and business unit communications partners as needed.
* Ensure brand consistency, including development and continued ownership of brand standards and guidelines.
* Ensure the reliability and validity of information disseminated.

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing or related field. Combinations of relevant education, certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Continuous learning, as defined by the Company's learning philosophy, is required. Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum three years of communications or marketing experience which provides the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities. Experience with design and Adobe Creative Suite is expected. Knowledge of health insurance industry and/or managed health care field preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED
* Demonstrated ability to interact with, counsel and influence senior executives effectively.
* Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills with demonstrable experience in all forms of corporate, executive and internal communications.
* Ability to stay up to date on industry trends and new mediums and methods.
* Advanced knowledge of effective communication principles and practices (oral, written, visual and electronic).
* Ability to creatively manage projects and events.
* Proficiency with MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Visio and Excel).
* Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
* Ability to work in a team setting and independently, and under tight deadlines.
* Ability to build trust and relationships with internal and external customers.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Ability to perform assi gnments at locations outside the office.
* Keen attention to detail; experience editing with a thorough knowledge of AP Style.
* Ability to work with a variety of variables where limited standardization exists.
* Resourceful problem solver with ability to formulate and execute plans efficiently and effectively.
Candidates will need to provide a portfolio of both written and presentation design work.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Local travel is required; national travel may be required.
