Gwinn Area Community Schools is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the role of food
service director during a leave of absence. The food service director oversees all aspects of the
food service operations. The job functions include administering, planning, directing, assessing,
implementing and evaluating the program in order to meet the nutritional and educational needs
of the children in an environment that supports healthy food habits while maintaining program
integrity and customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Train and coordinate with the current food service director prior to the leave of absence to
make sure that the candidate understands food service and kitchen procedures.
• Complies with all federal, state and local laws, regulations and policies.
• Handles correspondence with parents regarding meals, applications and account balances.
• Employs professional management techniques to maintain an effective and efficient school nutrition food service program.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Must enjoy problem solving and working in a variety of situations.
• Must enjoy working with children, young adults and adults.
This will be an approximate fifteen week placement.
Hourly wage will be $22.00 per hour.
Normal hours are 7 am - 3 pm.
